Bankers Rot

Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that President Obama’s healthcare plan is constitutional and can now go ahead, and in its wisdom ruled earlier that corporations are people, does this mean corporations can now visit the doctors for a health check?  Imagine the doctor/patient consultation chat:

“Good morning, Mr. Barclay.  What can I do for you today?”

“Well, doc,  I have this stinking pus oozing out of every orifice in my body.  It’s very embarrassing.  What can you do for me?”

“How long have you had this problem?”

“For many years actually, but I just ignored it and just kept feeding myself more of the same stuff thinking it would go away, but now I have terrible pain in my gut.”

“I’m not surprised, Mr. Barclay.  what you have is a severe case of “Banker’s Rot.”  A lot of banks have it these days.  There is quite an epidemic going around right now.  The cause is a particularly nasty virus known as The Banker’s Bonus Virus.  It encourages the growth of a ‘greed fungus’ and causes your employees to think they are above the law and not accountable for their actions.  In severe cases it turns into criminal behavior.  I’m afraid you are very badly infected with Banker’s Rot and it might well kill you.   It has already eaten right into your core and that’s the cause of the stink.   The surgeon may be able to cut it out and remove the rotten tissue but at best it will take you years to get over it.  And if you don’t want to be re-infected you will have to change your ways, become honest once again, and most important of all, forgive yourself for being so greedy.”

“But Doc, can’t you just prescribe some pain killers and stuff the holes to stop the oozing?”

“Sorry, Mr Barclay.  It wouldn’t do any good.  Major surgery is your only option, I’m afraid. Goodbye.  Next patient, please nurse.  Good morning Mr. Lloyd.  What can I do for you?”

[Now that banks are people they have the option of doing the Radical Self-Forgiveness worksheet.]

Colin I have been reading your website and the way you articulate so logically, so thoughtfully, makes your ‘rants’ and blogs a great pleasure to read. It’s clear that you have carefully and thoroughly thought out your opinions and statements. We need more of that going around, thank you.
